Glitching, Not Broken: A Letter to a Generation That Never Fully Loads

Always loading, never settling that's not a malfunction, it's the condition a lot of us are living in. Half-finished plans. Careers built on shifting ground. A constant low hum of "not there yet" that never quite resolves into "arrived."

It's easy to read that as failure. We'd rather read it as a glitch a system that's still processing, not one that's broken beyond repair. A glitch interrupts the smooth narrative you were told to expect: steady job, steady house, steady sense of self by a certain age. When none of that arrives on schedule, it doesn't mean you're behind. It might mean the schedule was never realistic to begin with.

There's something oddly freeing about letting go of "settled" as the goal. If nothing is fully loaded yet, that also means nothing is fully decided. You're not locked in. The version of you that feels glitchy and in-between right now is not a mistake in the code she's mid-update. That takes time, and it's supposed to look messy from the inside.

So if you're the person who feels like you're always buffering while everyone else seems to have loaded their life already you're not glitched. You're early. Or late. Or just running on your own clock. All of those are fine.
